1991-93

A new strip, always remembered for United's 'nearly season' in the old second division.

We played the likes of Wolves, Newcastle, Blackburn, Charlton, Middlesborough and Portsmouth (not to mention Man Utd in the league cup) before just missing out on the Premiership.

It's all been downhill since then.

The new strip was produced by Influence, possibly inspired by Arsenal's infamous zig-zag away strip.

Fujitsu became the sole sponsor for home and away shirts.

Lee Philpott in the new home strip...

...and the away strip, at Watford

Jon Sheffield, in the grotesque keeper's shirt

Steve Claridge in the all-amber strip, away at Brentford

Dion Dublin, in a combination of away and home kit, at Oxford.
